Accessing Settings
From the home screen, tap the menu button in the toolbar, then select Settings.
Appearance
Color Scheme
Choose how Ressup looks:
- Light - Always use light mode (default).
- Dark - Always use dark mode.
- System - Follows your device's Light/Dark mode setting.
The change takes effect immediately.
Background color
Pick a preset Background color (swatches under Appearance). The selection updates the tinted navigation and list backgrounds used on Home and deeper screens.
Data
iCloud Sync
When enabled, your recipes sync across your Apple devices via iCloud. Requires iCloud to be signed in. Restart the app after toggling this setting for changes to take effect.
Units
Measurement System
Choose your preferred measurement system:
- Imperial - Cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, ounces, pounds, pints, quarts, gallons.
- Metric - Grams, kilograms, milliliters, liters.
This setting affects:
- How ingredient amounts are displayed throughout the app.
- Which units are available in the ingredient amount picker when creating or editing recipes.
- Unit conversion display (when applicable).
Ingredient Order
Choose how ingredients are displayed in recipes:
- As added - Display ingredients in the order you entered them (default).
- By amount - Sort by quantity (largest first).
- Alphabetically - Sort ingredients A-Z by name.
Accessibility
This section provides information about Ressup's accessibility support, including:
- Dynamic Type support status
- VoiceOver support status
- Siri captions support
- Reduce Motion support
- A direct link to open your device's Accessibility Settings

Backup
Open Export Backup from Settings to reach the Backup screen:
- Save Backup File - Exports all active recipes as one JSON file; the Share Sheet opens for saving or sending.
- Export Cookbook - Exports only recipes marked Include in Cookbook in the editor.
- Restore from Backup - Import recipes from a JSON backup. Very large backups may exceed the in-app restore limit (see the export guide).

Sharing
View your sharing activity:
- Shared by you - Recipes you've shared with others via the Share button.
- Received - Recipes you've imported from JSON files. Also accessible from the menu as "Shared Recipes."
Help
- Show app intro again - Replays the first-launch walkthrough.
- Full User Guide - Opens this site in Safari (
reciperecorder.com/guide/).

Shortcuts to other screens from Settings:
Siri Shortcuts
Opens the in-app list of example phrases. For every Ressup action Siri can run, use Apple's Shortcuts app. See Siri & Voice Commands.
Profile
Set your display name and email. Your display name appears as the author on recipes you create and share. Optionally set a Group Website URL for community or organization pages that reference your recipes.
With a real display name saved (not Current User), the recipe Share sheet can offer Post to Community and Post to Marketplace, which copy recipe JSON and open the submission sites in Safari. See Sharing: Community and Marketplace.
