Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Ressup: Recipe Recorder ("Ressup," "the app," "we," "our") is developed by BHB Technologies, Inc. We believe your recipe data belongs to you. Ressup is designed as a local-first, privacy-respecting application. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information.
Data Storage
All data you create in Ressup - including recipes, ingredients, steps, photos, videos, audio notes, tags, and user profile information - is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
By default, Ressup does not use BHB Technologies servers or databases. Your recipe content does not leave your device except when you export or share it, when you enable iCloud Sync (see below), or when iOS device backup includes app data as part of your normal iCloud or local backup.
Device Permissions
Ressup requests the following device permissions, each of which requires your explicit consent:
Camera
Used to take photos of your recipes and cooking steps directly within the app. Camera access is only activated when you choose to capture a photo. No images are transmitted off your device.
Photo Library
Used to select existing photos and videos from your library to attach to recipes and steps. Ressup only accesses the specific media items you select. No library data is transmitted off your device.
Microphone
Used to record audio notes that you can attach to recipes and steps. Audio recordings are stored locally and are never transmitted off your device.
Siri & Shortcuts
Ressup integrates with Siri and the Shortcuts app so you can create recipes and control Cooking Mode by voice. Siri interactions are handled entirely by Apple's on-device processing. Ressup does not have access to your Siri audio recordings or transcriptions beyond the specific intent parameters Apple provides to the app.
Data Sharing
Ressup includes the ability to share recipes with others via the standard iOS Share Sheet (Messages, Mail, AirDrop, etc.). When you share a recipe:
- The recipe data is packaged in standard Schema.org JSON format.
- Sharing is initiated only by you - Ressup never shares data automatically.
- The data is transmitted through whichever sharing method you choose (e.g., iMessage, email). Ressup itself does not operate any servers or intermediaries.
Data Export & Backup
Ressup allows you to export individual recipes (as PDF, HTML, shopping lists, or social media text) and to create full backups of all your recipes in JSON format. Exported files are saved to a location you choose on your device or via the Share Sheet. No data is sent to BHB Technologies or any third party.
iCloud Sync (optional)
If you turn on iCloud Sync in Ressup's Settings, your recipes can sync between your own Apple devices using Apple's iCloud. That processing is handled by Apple under your Apple ID; BHB Technologies does not host your recipe data and cannot access your iCloud account.
iCloud Backup
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, iOS may include Ressup's data as part of your standard device backup. This backup is managed entirely by Apple and your device settings. BHB Technologies has no access to your iCloud backup data.
Analytics & Tracking
Ressup does not include any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, crash reporting services, or advertising frameworks. We do not collect usage data, device identifiers, or behavioral information of any kind.
This Website (reciperecorder.com)
The Ressup app does not include analytics SDKs that send your recipe content or usage to BHB Technologies. This website, however, uses Google Analytics to understand anonymous visitor statistics - such as how many people visit the site and which pages are most useful. Here is what that means in plain English:
- What is collected: Anonymous usage data such as page views, general geographic region (country or city level), device type, and referral source. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
- What is not collected: BHB Technologies does not collect your name, email address, IP address, or any other personal information via this website.
- Cookies: BHB Technologies does not set any cookies on this website. Google Analytics may set its own cookies to distinguish visits. You can prevent Google Analytics cookies by using your browser's privacy settings or a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Third-party processor: Anonymous analytics data is processed by Google. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Your recipe library in the app stays on your devices (and your iCloud if you enable sync). BHB Technologies has no access to your recipes, ingredients, media, or profile information through the app.
Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have certain rights regarding personal data. Because we do not collect personal data via this website or the app, most of these rights will not be practically applicable - but we want to be transparent about them:
- Right of access: You have the right to ask what personal data (if any) we hold about you.
- Right to erasure: You can request that any personal data we hold be deleted. Since all app data is stored on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting data within the app or uninstalling the app entirely.
- Right to object: You can object to the use of Google Analytics by using the opt-out tool linked above.
- Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been infringed.

Third-Party Services
The app does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or BHB-operated cloud backends. If you enable iCloud Sync, recipe data is processed through Apple's iCloud under your Apple ID. This website uses Google Analytics as described above.
Children's Privacy
Ressup does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require account creation or any personal information to function.
Data Deletion
You are in full control of your data. You can delete individual recipes, ingredients, steps, or media at any time within the app. Uninstalling Ressup will remove all app data from your device.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. Since Ressup does not collect contact information, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
