Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Ressup: Recipe Recorder ("Ressup," "the app," "we," "our") is developed by BHB Technologies, Inc. We believe your recipe data belongs to you. Ressup is designed as a local-first, privacy-respecting application. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information.
Data Storage
All data you create in Ressup — including recipes, ingredients, steps, photos, videos, audio notes, tags, and user profile information — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Ressup does not use cloud servers, databases, or any remote storage. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.
Device Permissions
Ressup requests the following device permissions, each of which requires your explicit consent:
Camera
Used to take photos of your recipes and cooking steps directly within the app. Camera access is only activated when you choose to capture a photo. No images are transmitted off your device.
Photo Library
Used to select existing photos and videos from your library to attach to recipes and steps. Ressup only accesses the specific media items you select. No library data is transmitted off your device.
Microphone
Used to record audio notes that you can attach to recipes and steps. Audio recordings are stored locally and are never transmitted off your device.
Siri & Shortcuts
Ressup integrates with Siri and the Shortcuts app to allow hands-free recipe creation and cooking navigation. Siri interactions are handled entirely by Apple's on-device processing. Ressup does not have access to your Siri audio recordings or transcriptions beyond the specific intent parameters Apple provides to the app.
Data Sharing
Ressup includes the ability to share recipes with others via the standard iOS Share Sheet (Messages, Mail, AirDrop, etc.). When you share a recipe:
- The recipe data is packaged in standard Schema.org JSON format.
- Sharing is initiated only by you — Ressup never shares data automatically.
- The data is transmitted through whichever sharing method you choose (e.g., iMessage, email). Ressup itself does not operate any servers or intermediaries.
Data Export & Backup
Ressup allows you to export individual recipes (as PDF, HTML, shopping lists, or social media text) and to create full backups of all your recipes in JSON format. Exported files are saved to a location you choose on your device or via the Share Sheet. No data is sent to BHB Technologies or any third party.
Analytics & Tracking
Ressup does not include any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, crash reporting services, or advertising frameworks. We do not collect usage data, device identifiers, or behavioral information of any kind.
Third-Party Services
Ressup does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs that collect user data. The app operates entirely on-device.
Children's Privacy
Ressup does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require account creation or any personal information to function.
Data Deletion
You are in full control of your data. You can delete individual recipes, ingredients, steps, or media at any time within the app. Uninstalling Ressup will remove all app data from your device.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. Since Ressup does not collect contact information, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
